The Lab
The Perkin-Elmer TGA 4000 is running and set up to measure dynamic gas adsorption
The Bruker D8 Quest single crystal XRD is up and running and ready to get some structures
The Bruker D2 Phaser benchtop PXRD is collecting great data from such a small package!
The gas adsorption analyzer is ready to characterize microporous materials
The differential scanning calorimeter with autosampler is ready to go! This will be used to measure the thermal stability of various materials made in our lab.
The isothermal titration calorimeter is up and running. Time for thermodyanmics!
Our glovebox and solvent purification system are set up and ready for some air-free chemistry.
This is what happens when our post-doc Brian decides to run a hexanitration with fuming nitric acid.
Safety first!
The most important instrument for research is now set up and powered by Golden's own Pangea Coffee Roasters
In order to increase ventilation in the lab we have installed a new walk-in hood. This hood allows us to safely store chemicals and waste, as well as properly ventilate ovens used for solvothermal synthesis.
